Slick Rick is officially an American Citizen.
The hip hop legend, known as Ricky Martin Lloyd Walters, was officially sworn in at a ceremony in New York on Friday. His citizenship will keep him from being deported: a ruling from a judge that pardoned him from a 1990 shooting he was convicted of.
Slick Rick will now have dual citizenship in the U.S. and the U.K. He’s also hinted at dropping his first album since ’99.
